Blah, Blah, Bill Beckett, Blah, Blah
I think maybe I'm officially too old to stand for longer than four hours at a time. My feet are killing me.
So, anyway, the show was good. I left a little early because I kept getting texts from my mom about the weather being just awful (it wasn't) and also I'm really tired, but I enjoyed it for the most part.
The venue kind of sucked, but it was more or less what I was expecting. It wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have annoying teenies literally shoving me aside and then standing in front of me so I couldn't see a damn thing. But that happens at every concert I go to. The thing that drives me crazy is that I'm so obviously short, and they so obviously could see over me. The girl in front of me was literally a head taller than me. Like, my head didn't even reach her chin. She could have so easily stood behind me and seen everything, but she wasn't budging.
Let's see, the highlights.
Even whateverhislastnameis is adorable, though I wasn't feeling his music. But the kid was funny and charming, so I enjoyed his set.
Empires were great, Sean looked like hell, but he sounded pretty good. The very few glances I got at Tomrad were nice, he looked hotter than I've ever seen him, I'm pretty sure. He's cut his hair since I last saw a picture of him, and it looked good.
Man, William Beckett is seriously attractive. We saw him when we were standing in line outside the venue heading for the stadium, and I only saw him from behind, but that is one recognizable boy. He's so damn skinny. He sounded really good when he played, but I was kind of ready to get out of there by then, so I only half paid attention. Oh, and Sisky's hair is getting long, but it looks pretty adorable.
So, okay, I was standing next to this girl and her boyfriend, and she was maybe an inch or two taller than me, and just like me, couldn't see. But while my reaction to getting shoved out of the way was just to glare impotently at the backs of people, her reaction was to get loud and bitchy. Standing next to her was both hilarious and embarrassing. The worst thing? When she yelled out during Evan's set, "WHY ARE YOU SO ADD?" (because he stopped and talked during his songs a lot.) I WANTED TO DIE. But then, a few minutes later some kids shoved right in front of me, and she goes, "Really, it's their parents' faults for not raising them right," and I laughed. I mostly didn't like her, but she was mildly entertaining. (She also described The Spill Canvas' lyrics as "poetic," and I had to keep myself from snorting out loud. Teenie really is a state of mind.)
And then I drove home in pouring rain with wipers that squeak with every single pass. Oh, and walked half a mile to my car in pouring rain. But I didn't get lost, so I count it as a win.
Now I'm really cold, and I'm really tired, so I do believe I'll go to bed.
Mostly what I got from the show was that you know, band boys are attractive.

I hate that! It's like, I'm at least a foot shorter than some of the people at shows and they always push themselves in front of me! Most people are jerks. My sister and I are almost exactly the same height and we always complain about tall people standing in front at shows. Just because they're bigger and they can shove us out of their way. I would move aside so someone shorter than me could see, but that's because I actually know what it's like to be really short.
It's horrible that I'm still surprised that, when I went to see Rent and was outside to meet one of the actors, two guys who had to be over 6 feet tall actually noticed me and let me through! I was completely shocked because people who were taller and bigger than me didn't use their size to their advantage! Or, they more used it to my advantage. Keeping a path clear enough so I could get in.

He really is. I didn't realize that until I saw them live. There's something about some musicians that makes them like 50 times hotter live, you know?

See, I've always thought Beckett was good-looking, but man, in person it's like, multiplied by a hundred or something. It's crazy.

He is insanely hot in person. I didn't see it until I saw them live and then I couldn't stop seeing it.

Teenies are nuts. Makes me wonder what I was like back then!

I'm sure that you, like me, were the perfect teenager. We're delightful, after all.
